Men's Basketball Falls at Marquette

MILWAUKEE - Marquette used a run in the final nine minutes of the first half that visiting DePaul couldn't overcome as the Blue Demons lost, 83-58, on Saturday. Billy Garrett Jr. scored 12 points to lead the Blue Demons while Darrick Wood chipped in 11 off the bench.
Following two free throws by Wood to give DePaul a 22-20 lead with 8:58 left, Marquette outscored the Blue Demons 32-9 over the remainder of the first half to take a 52-31 lead at intermission. The Golden Eagles totaled 12 three-pointers in the first half and made six straight to finish the opening stanza.
DePaul (8-10, 1-4 BIG EAST) opened the second half with five straight points, but Marquette answered and quickly built the lead back to 23 and held the margin over the final 14 minutes of the game.
Tre'Darius McCallum finished the game with eight points and two rebounds while Devin Gage totaled six points and five assists off the bench.
Marquette (12-5, 3-2 BIG EAST) was led by 24 points from Andrew Rowsey and 19 from Katin Reinhardt.
DePaul faces a quick turnaround with a road trip to St. John's on Monday. The Blue Demons and Red Storm meet at Carnesecca Arena at 4:30 p.m. ET on FS1 and WSCR 670 AM.

- DePaul extended its streak to 725 straight games with a three-pointer.
- Billy Garrett Jr. made his 105th career start... he scored in double-figures for the 79th time in his career.
