
Blue Demons Fall to USF 4-2

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The DePaul women's tennis team dropped its second match of ITA-Kickoff Weekend action 4-2 to USF on Sunday evening at Linder Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.
DePaul (2-2) earned its two points in singles play against the Bulls (1-2).
In doubles play, Yuliya Shupenia and Ana Vladutu won their match at the No. 2 spot 6-3 over Jessica Cortes Chaves and Nicole Dzenga, but the Bulls prevailed at No. 1 and No. 3 to take the first point.
Keisha Clousing opened singles play with a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 win at No. 2. over Dzenga.
Aspasia Avgeri recorded DePaul's second and final point at No. 4 with a close 7-6, 6-2 win over Cortes Chaves. The win marks Avgeri's fourth in a row and 11th overall in her debut collegiate season.
Up next, DePaul heads north to Minneapolis for the Gopher Ice Volleys hosted by the University of Minnesota Feb. 4-5. The two-day competition features Dartmouth, Washington St., Minnesota and the Blue Demons.
