No. 1 Florida Defeats Women's Tennis

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The DePaul women's tennis team fell 6-1 to the No. 1 ranked Florida Saturday afternoon in Gainesville, Florida.
DePaul (2-1) is scheduled to play USF on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 11 a.m. on the courts of the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex in the consolation round of ITA-Kickoff Weekend.
Aspasia Avgeri clinched the lone point for the Blue Demons (2-1) over the Gators (1-0) in singles action. The freshman defeated Brook Austin 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 4 spot to extend her match wins to three straight for the dual season.
Marina Cozac battled at the No. 5 spot, but ultimately fell in a 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 thriller to Spencer Lang.
After the ITA-Kickoff Weekend action, DePaul heads to Minnesota for the Gopher Ice Volleys Feb. 4-5.
