Women's Tennis Blanks Cleveland State

CHICAGO - The DePaul women's tennis team swept Cleveland State Saturday evening on the courts of Lakeshore Sport & Fitness 7-0.
DePaul (4-4) handed the Vikings (3-5) their first loss in three matches.
The Blue Demons grabbed the doubles point with their No. 2 and No. 3 spots recording wins. The freshmen tandem of Aspasia Avgeri and Florence Abbott bested Blanche Lenoan and Katy Quillin 6-2 at No. 3. Juniors Keisha Clousing and Patricia Lancranjan paired at No. 2 to defeat Victoria Bensimon and Jane Schober 6-1.
Abbott and Lancranjan continued their winning ways into singles play, collecting wins at No. 2 and No. 5 respectively.
Lancranjan faced Bensimon again at No. 2, winning 6-0, 6-3.
Abbott played No. 5 singles against Schober and won 6-4, 6-4.
Yuliya Shupenia won her match at the top spot over Isabella Spindler 6-0, 6-2 while Ana Vladutu defeated Lenoan 6-2, 6-0.
Milica Tesic competed in her first singles match of the dual season at No. 6 and defeated Quillin 6-0, 6-2.
The Blue Demons are back at home tomorrow to take on their first BIG EAST opponent of the season, St. John's. First serves start at 1 p.m. CT at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
