
Women's Tennis Falls to Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The DePaul women's tennis team fell to Indiana on Saturday afternoon at the IU Tennis Center on Indiana's campus.
Indiana (6-5) defeated DePaul (4-6) 7-0.
It was all Indiana from the start, as the Hoosiers grabbed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The No. 2 tandem of Patricia Lancranjan and Aspasia Avgeri recorded a 6-3 finish over Paula Gutierrez and Pauline Jahren.
Despite Indiana taking all of the singles points, three Blue Demons took their competition to three sets.
Yuliya Shupenia fell at No. 1 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 to Madison Appel.
Caitlin Bernard defeated Ana Vladutu 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3, while Florence Abbott lost to Pauline Jahren 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 at No. 5.
DePaul returns home to Lakeshore Sport & Fitness on Sunday to take on Kansas State at 1 p.m. CT.
