The Blue Demons went on an 18-2 run in the first quarter in establishing a 20-6 lead. Allen had a three-point play and a three-point shot in the surge while Lauren Prochaska and Amarah Coleman each connected from beyond the arc.
A pair of Schulte free throws made it 22-10 after the first 10 minutes. Excelling at both ends of the court, Schulte held Seton Hall's leading scorer Jackson scoreless in the first quarter. She finished with 10 points on 3-of-14 shooting.
Allen's second 3-pointer gave the Blue Demons a 13-point lead as the sophomore guard made her first four shots and was perfect from distance. Jackson was still scoreless at the second quarter media timeout.
Jackson shook free for five-straight points, but Schulte came back with back-to-back scores. Seton Hall (11-13, 4-9) got back into the game courtesy of a 9-2 burst and went into halftime trailing 39-34. Schulte had 14 points and seven rebounds at the break and Allen had 11 points.
