VILLANOVA, Pa. - DePaul women's tennis won its sixth match in a row with a 5-0 finish over Villanova on Friday afternoon.
DePaul's (10-6, 2-1 BIG EAST) No. 89 ranked doubles tandem of Yuliya Shupenia and Aspasia Avgeri led off the match with a 6-1 mark over Lindsey Evans and Victoria Martinez at the No. 1 spot.
The two also went on to win their respective singles matches. No. 125 Shupenia faced Evans again at the top spot, finishing with a three-set 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 victory. Avgeri played No. 4 to best Carina Burdick 6-4, 7-5.
Ana Vladutu and Milica Tesic teamed up for the first time this season in doubles action to etch a 6-4 win over Kaylan Rotman and Alexandra Krogius at No. 2.
Keisha Clousing and Florence Abbott finished off the Blue Demons' doubles point at No. 3 with a 6-3 victory over Burdick and Connor Brewer.
In the rest of singles action, Clousing defeated Martinez 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, while Tesic recorded a 6-3, 6-4 finish over Linley Busby at No. 6.
Up next, the Blue Demons head to Georgetown for a Saturday, April 8 match at 1 p.m. CT.
