Frick Earns Spot on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

CHICAGO - Senior Madeline Frick's heroics on Sunday earned her a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly #wsoc Honor Roll, the fifth award for the Blue Demons this season.
Frick scored the golden goal in DePaul's conference match against Creighton in the 94th minute, lifting her squad to their first overtime win this season. She fired off two shots against the Bluejays and one in DePaul's match against Georgetown earlier this week.
The senior has three goals on the season and sits fourth in program history for assists (tied with Franny Cerny).

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Caitlin Farrell, Georgetown, Sr., F
Farrell maintained her grasp on the top spot in the BIG EAST rankings in both points and goals with two more scores last week. No. 7 Georgetown knocked off DePaul and Seton Hall by 3-0 scores, with Farrell scoring in the 84th minute against the Blue Demons and 60th against the Pirates. She tied for the BIG EAST lead with 10 shots last week. She enters Week 4 of BIG EAST play on a six-game scoring streak and has had at least three shots in 11 of 12 matches on the year.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Annika Schmidt, Butler, R-Jr., D
Schmidt anchored an impressive defense for Butler last week which scored a pair of home shutout wins over Seton Hall and Providence. The Pirates and Friars were outshot by a combined 33-7 margin, including 16-2 on goal. PC entered the contest averaging nearly six shots on goal per game, but was held without a shot on target for the first time since 2014. The clean sheets were the sixth and seventh of the season for the Bulldogs, second most in the BIG EAST this year.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Arielle Schechtman, Georgetown, Sr., GK
Schechtman earned two more shutouts last week with a combined nine saves. The senior made a season-high eight saves in Thursday's 3-0 win over DePaul before adding one stop in the Hoyas' 3-0 victory at Seton Hall on Sunday. Schechtman's shutout total is up to a BIG EAST-best eight on the season, including four straight.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Alyssa Bombacino, Marquette, Fr., F
In a 1-1 week for the Golden Eagles, Bombacino scored two goals, one in each contest, including the game winner against St. John's on Sunday. The rookie scored MU's first goal in a narrow setback to Villanova on Thursday, breaking into the scoring column in the 75th minute, while her GWG against the Red Storm came in the 78th. The freshman played a career-high 78 minutes against St. John's, while making her first career start.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Madison Toth, Butler, Sr., D
Toth had a goal and assist in a 2-0 week for the Bulldogs. The senior defender assisted on Halle Stelbasky's score in Butler's 3-0 win over Seton Hall on Thursday before notching the game winner in the 56th minute against Providence on Sunday.
Madeline Frick, DePaul, Sr., M/F
Frick provided the heroics for the Blue Demons on Sunday, scoring the golden goal in the 95th minute against Creighton to pick up their second BIG EAST win. She added a shot in Thursday's loss at No. 7 Georgetown.
Meredith Reinhardt, St. John's, R-So., GK
In a 1-1 week on the road for the Red Storm, Reinhardt totaled 11 saves, including six in Thursday's 2-1 win at Creighton. For the week she faced 35 shots, posting an .846 save percentage and 1.00 goals against average.
Kristin Barbour, Villanova, Jr., M/D
In a 2-0 week for the Wildcats, Barbour was credited with two assists, including the helper on Jasmine Ruiz's game winner against Xavier on Sunday.
Samantha Dewey, Xavier, R-Jr., F
Dewey had four points last week by totaling a goal and two assists as Xavier went 1-1. The redshirt junior had a goal and assist in the Musketeers' 3-2 overtime win at Providence on Thursday, assisting on Sydney Schembri's golden goal, before assisting on XU's lone goal in a setback to Villanova on Sunday.

DePaul returns to action on Thursday when they hit the road and travel north to Marquette. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the Golden Eagles All-Access.
