DePaul falls in three sets to No. 10 Creighton to conclude weekend.

CHICAGO – The Blue Demons fell to No. 10 Creighton Saturday 0-3 (15-25, 13-25, 19-25) at McGrath-Phillips Arena, making DePaul's record 5-18 (3-9 BIG EAST).

The first four points were exchanged between sides before Creighton went on a 4-0 run to take a 6-2 lead. The first stanza would feature some big Blue Demons kills, however, the Bluejays held DePaul to 15 points, taking the first set 25-15.

The first four points were once again exchanged between sides before a huge block by Avarie Evans-Allen and Isabell De La Rosa put the Blue Demons in a 3-2 lead. The next five points would go to Creighton, forcing a DePaul timeout with the Bluejays being up 7-3. A Claire Anderson kill would later bring the Blue Demons within three at an 11-8 deficit, however, CU would hold a comfortable lead for the remainder of the set, taking the second stanza 25-13.

Freshman Mireya Garcia started out the third set with a service ace to put DePaul up first. The first six points would trade between sides before Creighton went on a 3-0 run to lead by double at 6-3. The Blue Demons were able to stay within two points until Creighton went on a 3-0 run, forcing a DePaul timeout with the Bluejays leading 13-8. Out of the stoppage, Creighton scored the next two points. Kills from Evans-Allen and Mariah Robinson would bring the Blue Demons within two at 17-15, posing a threat and forcing a Creighton timeout. Regardless of the Blue Demons keeping the distance narrow, Creighton would go on to take the match with a 25-19 win in the final set.

The Blue Demons will hit the road again next weekend to face Georgetown and Villanova. DePaul will face Georgetown in a 4:00 p.m. match on Friday and Villanova at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
