Eriksson, Eriksen-Russo Earn Honors in Final Week of #BIGEASTwsoc Awards

CHICAGO - For their performances last week against St. John's, Mollie Eriksson was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week and Jade Eriksen-Russo earned a spot on the Honor Roll.Â
Eriksson recorded three saves against St. John's to earn her eighth shutout and victory of her freshman campaign. The Ottawa, Can. native ended the regular season tallying up 62 saves against opponents. The three-time honoree has now been named Freshman of the Week twice this season.Â
Eriksen-Russo provided the spark the Blue Demons needed to propel their efforts to the post-season. She scored the game-winning goal against St. John's in the 72nd minute as she streamlined diagonally across the box before striking a dagger right across to the opposite post, giving DePaul the go-ahead goal.Â
The Blue Demons closed out their season 8-6-5, 4-3-2 BIG EAST after falling to Xavier on Sunday in the BIG EAST Championship Quarterfinals in a shootout.Â
