Morgan Turner earns Academic Honors

CHICAGO - Morgan Turner has been named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, announced by CoSIDA on Thursday.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® Teams are selected by CoSIDA and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Turner scored five goals this season that saw her first-career hat trick in a 7-0 blowout of UMass Lowell early in the season. The Wayzata, Minn. native also racked up two assists and 12 points to close out her sophomore campaign. The forward fired off two game-winners against state-rivals Illinois and Loyola-Chicago.

The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. Illinois, along with Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, are placed in District 5. With a 3.98 GPA and a major in American Studies, Turner was named to the fifth district's second team.
