Blue Demons Host Florida A&M Monday at Wintrust Arena

DePaul looks for fifth straight win at home to open 2018-19 season
CHICAGO - DePaul continues its non-conference schedule with a Monday night game against Florida A&M. The Blue Demons have opened the home schedule with four straight wins and take on the Rattlers at 7:30 p.m. at Wintrust Arena.
Monday's game will be televised on FS1 with Lisa Byington (play-by-play) and Dickey Simpkins (analyst) handling the television duties. The game can also be seen online at foxsportsgo.com or the FOX Sports Go app. DePaul's radio tandem of Zach Zaidman (play-by-play) and Dave Corzine (analyst) can be heard on WSCR 670 AM as well as online on DePaul All-Access at www.depaulbluedemons.com. Florida A&M is 2-6 this season with six straight losses including a 66-57 defeat on Saturday at South Alabama. DePaul head coach Dave Leitao is in his seventh season at DePaul and his fourth since returning to the program after leading the Blue Demons three postseasons in three years from 2002-05. Overall, the 2018-19 campaign is Leitao's 13th as a head coach at the collegiate level. Florida A&M is led by Robert McCullum who is in his second season leading the Rattlers and ninth year overall as a collegiate head coach.

The last team to start 5-0 at home was the 2006-07 squad. That team began the season with seven straight home wins capturing a victory in every non-conference contest. Its first home defeat was to Pittsburgh by a score of 59-49 on Jan. 10, 2007 to begin the BIG EAST home schedule.

- DePaul extended its streak to 775 consecutive games with a three-pointer.
- The Blue Demons lost the opening tip for the first time this season.
- The 34-31 halftime score marked the fourth time in five games the Blue Demons have led at the half.
- DePaul put five players in double-figures for the first time this season… it is the first occurrence with five scoring at least 10 since Feb. 14, 2018 at St. John's.
- Eli Cain recorded his 63rd career game in double-figures… he scored at least 20 points for the 17th time in his career… the 26 points are the most since a career-high 32 against Butler on Jan. 21, 2017.
- Cain moved into 27th place on DePaul's all-time scoring list... he passed Joey Meyer (1,233 pts., 1968-71).
- Jalen Coleman-Lands scored a DePaul-best 15 points.
- Paul Reed totaled 11 points, eight rebounds and a career-high six blocked shots.
- Reed's six blocked shots are tied for seventh on DePaul's single-game blocks list (14th time)... the six rejections set a Wintrust Arena record.
- The game was the second all-time meeting between the programs... Cleveland State won the first game in January 1986 at the Rosemont Horizon.
The Opponent - Florida A&M Rattlers: Florida A&M is 2-6 overall this season... the Rattlers have dropped six straight after opening the season with back-to-back wins... on Saturday, Florida A&M dropped a 66-57 decision at South Alabama... Justin Ravenal leads the team with 14.4 points per game and 24 three-pointers... Tracy Hector adds 8.5 points per game with a team-high 5.7 rebounds per game... a year ago, the Rattlers went 9-25 overall and 7-9 in conference games... Robert McCullum is in his second season at Florida A&M and ninth year overall as a collegiate head coach.
The Series: Monday is the first meeting between the two programs.

- The game will be televised regionally on the Big Ten Network and can be heard in Chicago on WSCR (670 AM).
- Northwestern is 6-2 overall this season and hosts Michigan on Tuesday night prior to DePaul's visit to Evanston.
