CHICAGO - It's home, sweet home for DePaul men's tennis after opening the dual-match season with nine-straight away from Lincoln Park.
The Blue Demons are fired up for their home opener at 1:15 p.m. Sunday against Davidson at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
Coach Matt Brothers' guys came through that early gauntlet winning six of their nine matches including a split last weekend winning at Monmouth and falling at Pennsylvania.
Freshman Luuk Wassenaar has begun his collegiate dual-match career winning five of his first six matches while his doubles partner Christopher Casati is off to a 5-2 start. Tripp Tuff brings a 3-1 record into the weekend and Tamas Zador is 5-4.
In doubles, the tandem of Tuff and Conor O'Meara is 3-0 in the dual season and 6-0 overall. Zador and Fran Tonejc are 3-3 in the second season.
DePaul's "Band of Brothers" would like nothing better than to duplicate last year's record of 9-0 at Lakeshore.
Davidson faces Illinois-Chicago on Saturday before coming to Lincoln Park. The Wildcats are 2-2 in the dual season with wins over East Carolina and Presbyterian and losses to No. 25 South Carolina and Gardner-Webb.
