CHICAGO - DePaul women's tennis ran into a formidable Big Ten opponent Saturday at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
The Blue Demons were knocked off by Michigan State 7-0 in their eighth outing of the dual-match season.
The Spartans are 8-2 with their only losses coming to No. 4 Georgia and No. 13 Auburn.
No. 1 singles player Keisha Clousing came so close to scoring a point for DePaul in a 7-5, 6-7, 1-0 loss to Aslina Chua.
Aspasia Avgeri battled Sara Kuuttila in a 6-4, 6-7, 1-0 decision while Marija Jovicic also came close in a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 setback to Michigan State's Emily Metcalf.
DePaul is right back at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness on Sunday taking on Northern Illinois in a match scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
