Women's Tennis Falls at Seton Hall

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Entering Saturday's match with just five healthy players proved too big an obstacle to overcome for the Blue Demons.
The shorthanded women's tennis team from Lincoln Park dropped a 4-3 BIG EAST Conference match to Seton Hall at the Campus Courts at Ivy Hill Park.
DePaul (6-6, 1-1) had to forfeit one singles match and one doubles match before the opening serve. That led to Seton Hall (5-7, 1-0) capturing the doubles point for an early 1-0 lead.
The Blue Demons needed to win four singles matches and came close. Patricia Lancranjan was victorious at No. 1 singles and Alina Kuzmenkova won her match at No. 4. Milica Tesic gave DePaul its third point after her win at No. 5.
The Saturday setback had the Blue Demons splitting their pair of BIG EAST matches over the weekend after they defeated St. John's 4-3 on Friday.
Lancranjan returned to Lincoln Park having won both of her singles matches and improving her dual-season record to a team-leading 9-2. Her overall record is 11-4. Freshman Alina Kuzmenkova also swept both of her matches.
DePaul returns to action Saturday, April 7 at Butler with the BIG EAST encounter scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
