DePaul Men's Soccer Hosts Eastern Illinois in Final Exhibition Match

CHICAGO – DePaul will play host to the Eastern Illinois Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon for the 2018 season home opener on Wish Field.
In hopes of bouncing back from their exhibition loss against Western Illinois, head coach Mark Plotkin was able to get a better outlook of his team for the rest of the season.
"I'm thrilled with a lot of the individual performances and feel we made a big step forward in our development," Plotkin said. "Our staff challenges this team to improve each day we are out on the field. I'm excited for tomorrow to see how our team can grow and respond against Eastern Illinois."
Tuesday's match marks the fourth meetup in program history. The Blue Demons' all-time record against the Panthers is 1-3, the lone W coming in 2013 - the last time the two teams met.
Scouting the Panthers
Eastern Illinois opened up their season with a 2-0 loss to reigning Big Ten champs Wisconsin in an exhibition match last Tuesday, Aug. 14. The Panthers finished the 2017 season 4-9-6 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play. Head coach Kiki Lara is at the helm of the program for the fourth season. Fifteen total players return, including two members of the 2017 Summit League All-Newcomer team, who welcome the addition of 16 others.
