Blue Demons Close Regular Season at Xavier

CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer wraps up its 2025 regular season on the road Friday evening, traveling to take on Xavier at Corcoran Field. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT with live coverage available on Xavier+ for a fee.
Demon Doings
DePaul enters the matchup at 2-8-6 overall and 0-6-1 in BIG EAST play, coming off a strong effort in its home finale against Providence. The Blue Demons twice held the lead behind goals from Jordan Clagette and Tyler Flowers, while outshooting the Friars 13-12 and holding an 8-3 edge in corner kicks.
Despite the record, DePaul has shown consistent attacking intent, ranking 23rd nationally in shots per game (14.9) and 19th in corner kicks per match (6.38). Sophomore Jayden Waski continues to lead the team in playmaking, ranking seventh in the BIG EAST with four assists. Seven Blue Demons have multi-goal campaigns led by Joon Han and Noeh Hernandez with three apiece. Graduate goalkeeper Santiago Davila has been steady between the posts, appearing in 11 matches and ranking fifth in the league with 3.27 saves per game.
Head coach Mark Plotkin's group will look to close out 2025 with a complete 90-minute performance, building on a season where the Blue Demons have created chances in every outing.
Scouting Xavier
The Musketeers enter Friday's contest at 5-6-3 overall and 1-4-2 in BIG EAST play, hosting their Senior Day in the regular-season finale. Xavier's balanced lineup features several attacking options with senior midfielder Cooper Forcellini leading the way with 10 goals on the season. Senior goalkeeper Jonny Mennell has appeared in 10 matches and owns a 1.60 goals against average. John Higgins is in his fourth season leading the Musketeers.
Series Stuff
Friday marks the 24th all-time meeting between DePaul and Xavier, with the Musketeers leading the series 16-3-4. The two teams battled to a scoreless draw last season in Chicago, while DePaul's most recent victory came in 2021, a thrilling 3-2 double-overtime win in Cincinnati. The Blue Demons are 2-8-1 all-time in road matches against the Musketeers.
