DePaul Set for Battle Against Western Michigan

CHICAGO - DePaul Men's Soccer begins their week with a matchup against No. 8/14-ranked Western Michigan at 3:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon at Wish Field.
The Blue Demons (0-1-0) are coming off a loss to the Kentucky Wildcats 1-0 on Friday. Sophomore goalkeeper Drew Nuelle posted a career high seven saves after facing 16 total shots in his debut for DePaul.
The Broncos (1-0-0) defeated the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers, 2-0, on Friday night. The United Soccer Coaches Division I preseason poll ranked WMU 14th in the nation. They also came in at No. 14 in the College Soccer News Top 30 poll. Additionally, they were ranked eighth by Top Drawer Soccer. The Broncos were projected to finish second in the Mid-American Conference.
This is the fifth matchup between DePaul and Western Michigan in series history. The record sits at 3-0-1 in favor of the Broncos. The two teams haven't met since in the regular season since 2014, where the Broncos took the win, 1-0. In last year's exhibition match, DePaul held a 1-0 lead for the first 85 minutes before WMU would score the equalizer to force penalty kicks. The Broncos secured the victory after outscoring the Blue Demons 4-2 in PKs.
