Blue Demons Set for Clash With Bulldogs Friday

CHICAGO - DePaul's men's soccer team will hit the road Friday for Des Moines, Iowa to take on the Drake Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. at Cownie Soccer Complex.

The Blue Demons (2-2-0) are coming off a 3-0 shutout of Loyola Marymount University last Sunday, taking second in the Chicago Classic. Sunday's match saw three different Blue Demons find the back of the net - Isaac Friendt, Istvan Wilhelms and Bryan Simons. The initial goal was Friendt's first career goal on Wish Field, and Wilhelms' and Simons' first goals of the season.

Scouting the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs (3-1-0) are on a three-game winning streak after shutting out the 'Roos of UMKC, 3-0 on Tuesday. Drake outshot UMKC 11-9 and had six shots on goal. Before that, they defeated two ranked teams; ninth-ranked Butler, 2-1, in Indianapolis and No. 20 UIC, 3-1. They return four seniors and six juniors. Head coach Gareth Smith is in his third season at the helm of the program and led Drake to the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference title in his first season.
