The Blue Demons look to improve on their performances at the Indiana event
Terre Haute, Ind. – The DePaul men's and women's track & field squads head to Indiana to compete in the John Gartland Invitational hosted by Indiana State University on Saturday, Jan. 19. Field events are scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. with running events kicking off at 11:30 a.m.
The Blue Demons will be competing against host Indiana State University, in-state competitors Southern Illinois and Western Illinois as well as neighboring competitors Valparaiso and Missouri State.
Freshman Standout
Competing at the Badger Icebreaker last weekend, newcomer Isabel Ingram clocked a first-place finish in both the preliminary and finals of the 60-meter hurdles. The Ames, Iowa native also earned a spot on the podium earlier in the season at the Blue & Gold Invitational in the 400-meter dash.
Dominating Distance
Sophomore Chris Ahlers competed in his first one-mile run at meet in Madison, Wis. and placed second in the event. Taking home first place was teammate Noah Deck. The senior from Oak Park, Ill. crossed the finish line just milliseconds before his teammate with a time of 4:24.28.
