Blue Demons Post a 7-0 Win in Rockford, Ill.

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The DePaul women's tennis team returned to their winning ways on Friday afternoon with a 7-0 sweep of Northern Illinois.

In doubles action, the Blue Demons claimed the early 1-0 advantage and never looked back. At No. 1, Keisha Clousing and Lenka Antonijevic teamed up to take down Brodie Walker and Christy Robinson, 6-1. Aspasia Avgeri and Maddie Yergler secured the doubles point for DePaul with a 6-2 win over Maria Potsi and Fernanda Naves.

In singles action, Aspasia Avgeri continued the momentum for the Blue Demons with a 6-1, 6-2 straight set victory over Walker at No. 2.

Clousing moved to 6-4 in dual season play at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-2 rout of Potsi. Fellow senior Milica Tesic recorded DePaul's fourth point at the No. 5 position over NIU's Lara Slisko 7-6, 6-1.

Freshman Maddie Yergler picked up her third win of the spring season in a 6-2, 6-4 triumph over Julia Dmitrieva at No. 6. Antonijevic secured her first victory of dual season with a defeat of NIU's Paula Veyhle 7-5, 6-4.

Marija Jovicic completed the sweep for DePaul at No. 3 with a 7-5, 6-0 straight set win over Christy Robinson.

DePaul (4-6, 2-0) is back in action on Sunday as they face their fourth Big Ten opponent this spring as they visit Bloomington, Ind. to take on the Hoosiers at 10 a.m.
