Blue Demons returns home on Mar. 8 to host Green Bay

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The DePaul women's tennis team fell to the Vikings of Cleveland State on Saturday night, 4-2, at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion.

Cleveland State took the early lead with Blue Demons Lenka Antonijevic and Aspasia Avgeri falling behind in doubles action with a 7-5 defeat at the No. 1 position at the hands of Kateryna Avram and Lara Mrcela.

To kick off singles action, Avgeri knotted the match 1-1 with a victory at No. 1 over Isapbella Spindler 6-1, 6-4. Antonijevic gave DePaul the 2-1 match lead at the No. 3 position with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 win against Lara Prosenjak.

The Vikings went on to take matches at the No. 4 and No. 2 positions to clinch the match over the Blue Demons.

DePaul (4-9, 2-0 BIG EAST) will return home to Lincoln Park to host Green Bay on Mar. 8 at 7 p.m. at Lakeshore Sport and Fitness.
