Women's Tennis Clinches Weekend Sweep

Blue Demons finish 6-2 in BIG EAST play
OMAHA, Neb. -- The DePaul women's tennis team wrapped up the regular season on Sunday afternoon with a dominant 6-1 performance over Creighton on the courts of the Hancom Tennis Center.
DePaul improved to 8-11 overall and 6-2 in BIG EAST competition, while Creighton fell to 8-12 and 2-3 in conference play.
In doubles action, Keisha Clousing and Lenka Antonijevic continued their strong play with a 6-2 win at No. 1 while the duo of Aspasia Avgeri and Alina Kuzmenkova clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot.
On the singles side, five Blue Demons captured victories en route to the DePaul win.
With a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 1, Keisha Clousing won her third match in a row and finished the regular season 6-1 in BIG EAST action.
Marija Jovicic wrapped up the regular season with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4 to move to 4-2 in conference play.
At the No. 3 spot, Alina Kuzmenkova returned to the win column in a powerful 6-4, 6-4 win to clinch the match for the Blue Demons.
Maddie Yergler built upon Saturday's success with a 7-5, 6-4 performance at No. 5.
Aspasia Avgeri capped off a fantastic BIG EAST regular season with a 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 10-6 win at No. 2 to finish the regular season 7-1 in conference action.
DePaul returns to the courts for the 2019 BIG EAST Championship in Cayce, South Carolina. Action will begin on Thursday at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center.
