CHICAGO - DePaul head coach Tracie Adix-Zins announced today that Erin Hocker is joining the program as a transfer. She played her freshman season at Kirkwood and will be eligible to play for the Blue Demons starting with the 2020 season.
"We are extremely excited about RHP Erin Hocker from Great Falls Montana joining the Blue Demon family," said Adix-Zins. " She posted great numbers in her freshman year at Kirkwood and we believe she will be a great asset to our returning pitching staff."
While at Kirkwood, Hocker ranked second in strikeouts with 274 out of her 268.2 innings pitched and boasted a 1.93 ERA. Throughout those innings, she only gave up 82 walks. Hocker also ranked second out of all DII programs for wins with 31 on the season, while the first place pitcher had 32. Additionally, Hocker was named DII Junior College Second Team All-American and ICCAC First Team All-Region.
Prior to her time at Kirkwood, Hocker was the 2017-18 Gatorade Softball Player of the Year for Montana. She helped lead her team to a 2018 State AA Championship title with a 17-0 record and a .79 ERA. Hocker finished high school with an overall record of 43-10 and struck out a total of 494 batters.
