CHICAGO - The Blue Demons took the first set against the Redbirds but fell behind 1-3 (25-23, 15-25, 18-25, 18-25) Saturday afternoon at McGrath-Phillips Arena.

Next weekend DePaul will open its season Aug. 30 at the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational in Springfield, Mo. The tournament will feature Jacksonville, SEMO and host Missouri State. DePaul will play Jacksonville and SEMO Friday, Aug. 30 at 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will close out the invitational with a match against Missouri State on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 1 p.m.
