CHICAGO, Ill. - DePaul put up a fight but ultimately fell in four sets 1-3 (20-25, 27-25, 22-25, 21-25) against St. John's Friday evening at McGrath-Phillips Arena.Â
Brittany Maxwell had her sixth double-double of the season with 17 kills and 15 digs.
FROM COACH ZIDEK
"St. John's is a really good matchup for us and like we expected, they pulled out best volleyball out and we pulled the best out of them," said head coach Marie Zidek. "Their outside hitter had a big time match and she put the team on her back when they needed her most and they served really well. That being said, all the errors from the Xavier match, we corrected and we battled really hard.
"Brittany had an amazing match, Emma was on fire hitting .400 at one point and we had a lot of really good defensive rallies. If we just up our serve receive a little bit, I think we have a good chance of winning that. At the end of the day, it was a really good battle and I am really proud of the team."
