Wisconsin, Green Bay begin span of 12-straight matches away from home
CHICAGO – Coach Matt Brothers and the DePaul men's tennis team heads north this weekend for their second and third matches of the dual season.
It kicks off the most demanding stretch of the schedule in which the Blue Demons will play 12 consecutive matches away from Lincoln Park.
After a sweeping dual-match debut last week resulting in a 7-0 triumph over UIC, the Blue Demons take on Big Ten opponent Wisconsin Friday in Madison at 5:30 p.m.
The Badgers have opened their season with a 6-1 victory over Illinois State and a 6-1 win over Chicago State.
Two days later, DePaul will face Green Bay in the Phoenix's dual-match opener in the heart of Packer country.
After missing the tournament season because of an injury, last year's BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Vito Tonejc won his first singles match of 2019-20.
Brother's singles lineup is further bolstered by Boris Spanjaard, Tamas Zador, Chris Casati, Tripp Tuff and Luuk Wassenaar.
The Casati/Spanjaard combination has been the most successful doubles tandem with an overall record of 11-4.
