
Blue Demons Drop 5-2 Decision at Wisconsin

Vito Tonejc wins his singles and doubles matches on Friday night
MADISON, Wis. – DePaul came out fast on Friday night seizing a 2-0 lead against the Big Ten's Wisconsin Badgers.
But despite the early lead, the Blue Demons dropped a 5-2 decision in their second match of the dual season.
The doubles teams of Boris Spanjaard/Christopher Casati and Vito and Fran Tonejc each won their showdowns against the Badgers to secure the doubles point.
Then Vito Tonejc, the BIG EAST Freshman of the Year last season, fueled the momentum with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles over Lenard Soha.
The Blue Demons (1-1) had opportunities to serve out the first set on courts three and four but could not close it out.
Wisconsin (3-0) won the final five singles matches to remain unbeaten.
Coach Matt Brothers and his team will look to bounce back on Sunday with an 11 a.m. match at Green Bay.
