Men's Soccer Welcomes Transfer Michael Lantry
1/28/2020 7:50:00 AM | MEN'S SOCCER
CHICAGO - Men's Soccer head coach Mark Plotkin announced Tuesday the addition of transfer Michael Lantry to the 2020-2021 squad. Lantry comes to DePaul from Syracuse University after playing two seasons for the Orange.
"We are very excited about Michael Lantry joining the DePaul Men's soccer program," Plotkin said. "He is a player we were familiar with in the recruiting process from his youth career with Empire United DA in Rochester, NY. When our staff saw he was looking to transfer, we jumped at the opportunity to recruit him again and bring him to Lincoln Park.
"Michael brings ACC playing experience and a great competitiveness to our group and will compete for time immediately on the back line. He started with us this quarter and is acclimating well with our group. We're looking forward to his contributions to the program and seeing our team grow this offseason."
In his time at Syracuse, Lantry took the field on three occasions his sophomore year and made five appearances including two starts his freshman year. Before playing collegiately, the Syracuse, N.Y. native was ranked the No. 137 recruit by Top Drawer Soccer and No. 4 in New York. While playing with Empire United DA, he scored eight goals in 18 games.
