Men's Tennis Faces Three-Straight Matches Away from Lincoln Park

Road trek begins Friday against Creighton in BIG EAST opener
CHICAGO – A demanding three matches in three days away from home is the next challenge for coach Matt Brothers and his band of Blue Demons this weekend.
Friday will bring them to Omaha, Neb. for their first BIG EAST match when they take on Creighton at the Hanscom Tennis Courts. The Bluejays have opened the season 1-3 with success against Midland and losses to Iowa, Omaha and Wichita State.
Speaking of the Shockers, they will be Saturday's opponent in a neutral-court matchup at Des Moines, Iowa. DePaul (2-5) will encounter a strong tennis program that has opened the dual-match season with a 7-3 mark.
Wichita State has knocked off Omaha, Creighton, Kansas City, Arkansas, Drake, Charlotte and Georgia State while falling to No. 16 Tennessee, Denver and Middle Tennessee.
The road trip concludes with a Sunday afternoon encounter with Drake, returning to the Roger Knapp Tennis Center. The Bulldogs are off to a 1-8 start with a season-opening win over Western Michigan followed by eight-straight losses to Northern Illinois, Gonzaga, Arkansas, Middle Tennessee, Wichita State, Alabama, Oregon and Iowa.
Christopher Casati leads DePaul in singles with a 10-8 record followed by Luuk Wassenaar (13-12) and Boris Spanjaard (10-9).
The Casati/Spanjaard doubles team is 14-7 on the season while the Lars Peder Minsaas/Wassenaar tandem is 7-4 and the brothers Tonejc (Vito and Fran) are 3-1.
