
Volleyball Clashes with Connecticut on Sunday Afternoon

Blue Demons and Huskies meet at 1 p.m. CT
CHICAGO – DePaul women's volleyball is set to close out the week with a matchup against Connecticut on Sunday afternoon at Gampel Pavilion.
First serve is set for 1 p.m. CT with all the action streamed live on FloSports.
Sunday's meeting will mark the second of the season between the programs as the Blue Demons will look to avenge a three-set loss against the Huskies on Oct. 2.
Demon Doings: DePaul enters its 10th conference match of the season at 12-9 overall and 5-4 in BIG EAST play. After Friday's conference matches, the Blue Demons currently sit in a tie for fourth in the league standings with Xavier.
On Wednesday October 20, DePaul battled with league-leading Marquette before eventually falling in five sets to the Golden Eagles at the Al McGuire Center. Wednesday's match marked the first time the Blue Demons took a set off Marquette since 2016.
Sophomore Jill Pressly leads DePaul in kills through its first nine conference matches with 3.61 per set while recording 3.00 digs per set. Right side Emma Price is averaging 2.48 kills per set while senior middle blocker leads the conference in hitting percentage at .412 while putting down 2.26 kills per set.
Brown leads the Blue Demons blocking unit with a team-high 1.19 stuffs per set. The Galloway, Ohio native tallied a career-high 10 blocks in Wednesday's 3-2 decision at Marquette.
Libero Rachel Krasowski anchors the back line with 4.10 digs per set In BIG EAST play. Ashley Cudiamat and Molly Murrihy share the setting responsibilities dishing out 6.03 and 4.84 assists, respectively.
Scouting Connecticut: The Huskies are coming off their first win over a ranked opponent in program history in a victory over then-No. 19 Creighton on Saturday, Oct. 16. UConn is 14-6 overall and 6-2 in BIG EAST action. Through 10 matches at home, the Huskies are 9-1 in Gampel Pavilion. Senior outside hitter Caylee Parker leads the UConn attack with 3.50 kills per set in conference matches while junior libero Karly Berkland anchors the back line with 4.73 digs per set in league play. McKayla Wuensch quarterbacks the UConn attack with 9.33 assists per set which ranks third in the conference. The Huskies lead the conference in blocks with 80 through eight conference matches for 2.67 per set.
Series Stuff: DePaul will be in search of its first win over the Huskies in program history. UConn is 11-0 in the all-time series.
RPI Update: In the third release of the NCAA RPI, a key post-season ranking metric, the Blue Demons moved up 14 spots to a season-best 72. In the initial ranking on Oct. 3 DePaul sat at 109. The BIG EAST boasts five squads in the top 75 with Creighton at 13 followed by Marquette at 19. St. John's is just ahead of the Blue Demons at 65. UConn rounds out the top-five at 75.
