Coach Marisa Arce's tennis team goes 5-0 at Louisville Tennis Classic
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Blue Demons cleaned up in doubles Friday at the Louisville Tennis Classic.
On the first day of its final tournament of the fall season, DePaul went 5-0 against doubles teams from Ball State and Middle Tennessee State.
The combos of Lenka Antonijevic/Yuliya Kizelbasheva and Eleanor Nobbs/Marija Jovicic beat opponents from both schools.
Antonijevic and Kizelbasheva took down Amy Kaplan and Emma Peeler from Ball State 7-5 and followed up with a 6-3 decision over Middle Tennessee's identical twin sisters Lee and Zani Barnard 6-3.
Nobbs and Jovicic defeated Ball State's Jessica Braun and Livia Lukacs 6-4 and doubled down with a 6-0 whitewash of Muskan Gupta and Lilly-Sophie Schmidt from Middle Tennessee.
Maddie Yergler was the lone Blue Demon to win at both singles and doubles. She prevailed over Louisville's Dina Chaika 7-6(2), 2-6, 10-3 and teamed with Valentina Martin to knock off Ball State's Mariya Polishchuk and Hannah Davies 6-3.
On tap for Saturday in this hidden-duals competition, coach Marisa Arce's team will face Louisville and Ball State in doubles and Middle Tennessee in singles.
