DePaul Set for Road Battle with #25 Providence

DePaul and #25 Providence kickoff at 6 p.m. CT on Saturday
CHICAGO - DePaul men's soccer heads to the east coast this weekend for a matchup with the No. 25 Providence Friars on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. CT. The Blue Demons take on a Providence side that has assembled a 3-0-1 record in BIG EAST play this season. Saturday's match in Providence, R.I. will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports presented by SoFi.
DePaul will be searching for a quality result on the road after posting a pair of victories in each of its home BIG EAST matches this fall. The Blue Demons hold a 2-1 conference record after wins over UConn and Creighton and a loss on the road at No. 1 Georgetown. Meanwhile, the Hoyas have cracked the nation's top-25 after conference wins over Seton Hall, Xavier and St. John's.
The last time out, the Blue Demons claimed their second-straight win over Creighton at Wish Field, notching a 1-0 win behind a Jacob Huth second-half goal. The Blue Demons picked up their second shutout of the season and improved to 4-2 at home this season.Â
PROVIDENCE NOTES
- The Friars have been perfect at home this season, posting a 4-0 record.
- Brendan McSorley leads the Friars with six goals this season, two of them being game-winners. McSorley's six scores lead the BIG EAST this fall.
- Providence goalkeeper Lukas Burns has posted three shutouts this season.Â
- Providence high-powered offense has been enough to control the BIG EAST portion of the schedule. The Friars have combined for nine goals through four conference matches.
