Turner wraps up dominant DePaul career with 31 total goals
CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer graduate student Morgan Turner was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team on Monday, as announced by the league office. Turner wraps up a phenomenal career as a Blue Demon after moving into the top five on the program's goal leaderboard and reeling in a handful of conference honors during her career.
"Morgan is an incredible competitor and goal scorer," said head coach Michele O'Brien. "We are so grateful for all of the contributions she has made to our program throughout her career. We will miss Morgan tremendously, but we are thankful for the impact she has made. I have no doubt that Morgan will be successful in whatever path she chooses after her time at DePaul."
Turner led the DePaul offense this fall, tallying a team-high nine scores and delivering four game winners. The DePaul standout ranked second in the BIG EAST with five goals during conference play. Turner recorded a hat trick in a win over Villanova and netted a pair of goals in a road victory over Seton Hall.
Turner earns second-team honors for the second time in her career after also being recognized after the 2020-21 season. The Maple Grove, Minn. native earned all-conference first team honors after scoring 10 goals and netting six game-winners in 2019. Turner was named to the BIG EAST all-freshman team following a four-goal output in her debut season back in 2017.
This fall, Turner finished an illustrious career as a Blue Demon that saw her move into fourth place on the all-time DePaul goal leaderboard. Turner is slotted behind Elise Wyatt (35), Franny Cerny (33) and Julianne Sitch (32) in the program record book. Across Division I soccer, Turner's 31 career goals rank 36th among active players. Turner played in 82 matches over five seasons in Lincoln Park, matching the DePaul record for matches played in a career. Turner joins Wyatt, Kelly Blumberg and Rebekah Roller at the top of the career matches played list.
The Blue Demon goal scorer made a habit of coming up in big moments during her time at DePaul. Turner totaled 14 game-winning goals and the Blue Demons totaled a 17-1-1 record in matches when Turner found the back of the net. The Blue Demons were unbeaten in 2021 when Turner netted a score.
