
DePaul Softball Unveils 2022 Schedule

Spring campaign features 15 contests at Cacciatore Stadium
CHICAGO – DePaul softball head coach Tracie Adix-Zins announced the 2022 schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The 53-game slate features contests with 12 NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago and includes 10 matchups with opponents from the power five conferences.
The Blue Demons will open the season with the DePaul Dome Tournament in Rosemont, Ill. set for Feb. 10-12. The 27-game event features 11 programs including Ball State, Bowling Green, Butler, Eastern Illinois, Murray State, St. Thomas, Seattle, Valparaiso, Western Illinois, and Western Michigan.
After opening weekend, DePaul will hit the road for the ensuing four weekends with non-conference tournaments in San Diego, Calif., Orlando, Fla., Tulsa and Stillwater, Okla., and Missoula, Mont.
DePaul will open the home portion of its schedule when Butler visits Cacciatore Stadium March 18-20 for the first BIG EAST series of the 2022 campaign.
New in 2022, all conference series will be played with one game apiece on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Blue Demons will host 2021 tournament champion Villanova along with St. John's and Georgetown while traveling to face Connecticut, Seton Hall, Creighton and Providence.
Adix-Zins and Co. will play six midweek contests against regional adversaries including home matchups with Illinois State, Illinois and Northwestern.
DePaul will once again be the host institution for the BIG EAST Championship presented by Jeep with all of the action taking place at the Ballpark at Rosemont, May 12-14. The postseason tournament was hosted in Rosemont, Ill. for six seasons (2014-19) before moving to the University of Connecticut and Burrill Family Field in 2021.
DePaul is coming off a 25-11 season in 2021 including a 13-1 record in BIG EAST play to earn the conference regular season title.
The Blue Demons return 17 letterwinners from a season ago and welcomed five newcomers to Lincoln Park this fall.
