
Bluejays Too Much for Blue Demons Wednesday Night

DePaul falls on the road to No. 13/11 Creighton
OMAHA, Neb. – A run to end the first half for Creighton was the difference as the Bluejays knocked off the Blue Demons on Wednesday night. Charlie Moore and Romeo Weems scored nine points each to lead DePaul in the 77-53 defeat.
The Blue Demons knocked down three of their first five three-point attempts to take an 11-3 lead early in the evening as Moore, Weems and Ray Salnave all connected from long range.
Marcus Zegarowski scored five straight for the Bluejays and tied it at 18-18 with a three-pointer at the seven-minute mark. The run continued for Creighton as they took a 29-21 lead with 3:19 on the first half clock before holding a 34-23 advantage at halftime.
The Bluejays didn't slow down to start the second half as they took a 42-25 advantage in the first three minutes after the halftime break. Creighton (17-5, 13-4 BIG EAST) led by as many as 30 points in the second half before the score settled at 77-53.
Moore added three rebounds, three assists and three steals while Pauly Paulicap finished with seven rebound and six points.
Zegarowski, Christian Bishop and Denzel Mahoney scored 13 points apiece to lead Creighton.
DePaul (4-11, 2-11 BIG EAST) returns to Wintrust Arena for the final two games of the regular season starting Saturday against Georgetown. The Blue Demons and Hoyas are scheduled for an 11 a.m. start on FS1 and WSCR (670 AM).
