Women's Tennis Falls to No. 46 Kansas State 4-0

Monday's road setback DePaul's first since Feb. 4---46 days ago
MANHATTAN, Kan. – DePaul opened its spring break trip to Kansas on Monday and ran into one of the top women's college tennis teams in the country.
The Blue Demons saw their five-match winning streak come to an end after a 4-0 setback to Kansas State which is ranked No. 46 in the Oracle/ITA Women's Tennis Coaches Poll.
Kansas State (5-5) clinched the doubles point winning matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 position. DePaul's Lenka Antonijevic and Yuliya Kizelbasheva had their five-match winning streak snapped 6-2 by the Karine-Marion Job/Maria Linares tandem which is ranked No. 46 in the country.
Aspasia Avgeri and Maddie Yergler were on the verge of winning their sixth straight with a 5-4 lead at No. 3 doubles when the match went unfinished after the Cyclones clinched the doubles point.
Kansas State won at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 singles in clinching the match at the Body First Tennis Center.
This was the first time coach Marisa Arce and her team had come up short on the scoreboard since way back on Feb. 4 at Notre Dame---a span of 46 days or nearly seven weeks.
They will look to get back on the winning track Wednesday with a 3 p.m. first serve at Wichita State.
