Match canceled due to COVID issues within the Aurora program
CHICAGO - DePaul men's soccer's scheduled matchup with Aurora University on Saturday, April 10 has been canceled due to COVID-related issues within the Aurora program. The match was the final scheduled contest of the 2020-21 season.
The Blue Demons conclude the 2020-21 campaign with a 2-5-2 record. Jake Fuderer led the squad with four goals while Timmy Iscra, Marek Gonda and Jack Richard all tallied two scores apiece. Senior goalkeeper Drew Nuelle played every game in net for the Blue Demons, racking up 43 saves.
DePaul's biggest win of the season was a 2-1 victory over Creighton at Wish Field on March 13. Iscra scored the game-winning goal to give the Blue Demons their first win over the Bluejays in the all-time series. Iscra was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after also scoring in a win over Xavier on March 10.
The Blue Demons had a number of contributing freshmen on the 2020-21 squad including Gonda and Omar Ramadan, who earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors back on March 15. Freshmen Kristian Malinich and Jacob Huth also logged important minutes and made contributions throughout the spring campaign. DePaul will transition into the preparation for the 2021 season later this fall.
