DePaul Bolsters Pitching Staff with Addition of Iowa Transfer Sarah Lehman

Iowa City, Iowa native has two seasons of eligibility remaining
CHICAGO – DePaul softball Head Coach Tracie Adix-Zins announced on Friday the addition of pitcher Sarah Lehman to the roster for the 2022 season. Lehman, a transfer from Iowa, lands in Lincoln Park with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
"I am extremely excited to add Sarah to our staff for the next two seasons" said Adix-Zins. "Her experience in the Big Ten will be a huge asset and help get us back to the NCAA Tournament."
In 2021, the right-hander from Iowa City, Iowa made 19 appearances and 13 starts including 10 complete games en route to a 6-8 record in the circle against a Big Ten-only schedule. Lehman threw 99 and a third innings, the most on the Hawkeyes pitching staff. Her 54 strikeouts on the season and opposing batting average of .241 ranked second on the squad. Lehman threw a complete game shutout on March 12 in a 2-0 win over Penn State in eight innings.
As a sophomore in 2019, Lehman saw action in 18 contests with 11 starts. Lehman earned her first career win in the circle on April 21 as she one-hit Rutgers in a 4-0 victory for the Hawkeyes. On April 24, Lehman threw a career-high eight strikeouts against Nebraska.
Prior to joining the Hawkeyes in 2019, Lehman played Division III volleyball at Coe College where she saw action in 105 sets and tallied 161 kills on the season.
At Regina High School, Lehman was a three-time first team All-State honoree and won two state championships in four appearances. Lehman totaled 823 strikeouts in four seasons and set the record for most strikeouts in a single state tournament game with 22.
Lehman plans to enroll in DePaul's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business with a focus in real estate and investments.
DePaul closed out the 2021 season with a 25-11 record including a 13-1 mark in BIG EAST play. The Blue Demons claimed the BIG EAST regular season title.
