Michele O'Brien looks to claim first win as head coach
CHICAGO - DePaul women's soccer travels to Rochester, Mich. to face the Oakland Golden Grizzlies on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. CT. After a 2-1 defeat versus Iowa last week in the season opener, the Blue Demons are looking to find the win column for the first time this fall. Thursday evening's match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Head coach Michele O'Brien is searching for her first career win at the helm of the Blue Demons' program. DePaul's matchup versus Oakland will be the first-ever meeting between the schools. Oakland, a member of the Horizon League, dropped its season opener versus FAU before beating Stetson last Sunday.
After scoring just three minutes into the season opener versus Iowa last week, the Blue Demons allowed a pair of unanswered Hawkeye goals. DePaul senior defender Sydney Parker collected the lone goal for DePaul, her first since a game-winner versus Valpo in last season's opener.
Following the trip to Michigan, DePaul returns to Lincoln Park to host UIC on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 4 p.m. The Blue Demons and Flames will also be meeting for the first time.
