Weems, Reed and Strus Set for NBA Summer League This Month

DePaul alums continue professional careers at NBA Summer League events
CHICAGO – Former Blue Demons Romeo Weems, Paul Reed and Max Strus are set to continue their professional career this month at the NBA Summer League. Weems and Strus are playing in two early events while all three alums will meet in Las Vegas. Weems makes his professional debut at the Salt Lake City Summer League with the Memphis Grizzlies while Strus and the Miami Heat play in the California Classic. Reed is headed to Las Vegas with the Philadelphia 76ers following his rookie season with the club.
The Salt Lake City and Sacramento events are a precursor to the MGM Resorts NBA Summer League in Las Vegas that will feature every NBA franchise and 75 games over 10 days from Aug. 8-17.
Weems and the Grizzlies play three games in Salt Lake City from Aug. 3-6 before four games and playoffs in Las Vegas. All games played in Salt Lake City will be at Vivint Arena and broadcast on either NBA TV or ESPNU. Weems played in 50 games for the Blue Demons over the last two seasons that included 47 games started. He posted averages of 7.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game and was named to the 2020 BIG EAST All-Freshman Team.
