Blue Demons Claim Individual Titles, Break School Record at Notre Dame Invitational

Borowiak sets school record, seven Blue Demons win individuals events Saturday afternoon

NOTRE DAME, Ind - DePaul's second trip to Notre Dame in the 2021-2022 indoor season saw a shattered school record and multiple personal bests on Saturday afternoon at the Loftus Sports Center.

Olivia Borowiak won the 3000m race with a time of 9:43.76 to set a new program record. The previous record of 9:48.87 set by Erin Moffett stood for nearly 18 seasons.

In the field, Casey Mulvey won the shot put with a throw of 15.30m. On the track, Kiersten Walker took home the individual title in the 400m dash (55.52) while freshman Jetta Mays finished first in the 60m dash (7.59).

Cameron Attucks ran a 6.86 in the 60m for first place with teammate Myles Marshall finishing closely behind with a 6.90 to take second. The 200m saw another 1-2 finish on the men's side with Michael Stanley winning the 200m and Cameron Attucks taking second.

Notable PR's for the Blue Demons include Kindle Miles 12.62m shot put finishing sixth, Damian Rodriguez's 4:13.34 mile finish for seventh-place and Jade Pope's fifth-place finish in the 400m dash (58.47).

After a week reprieve from competition, DePaul will make a return trip to Notre Dame on February 4th and 5th for the Meyo Invitational.
