DePaul Finishes Day One of Midwest Regionals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The DePaul women's tennis team completed day one of the ITA Midwest Regionals on Thursday.

The Blue Demons competed in the qualifying singles draw on the first day. Valentina Martin defeated Ohio State's Kathleen Jones and Western Michigan's Kiana Rizzolo.

Eleanor Nobbs took on Ella Franz from Cleveland State and earned a win in the head-to-head matchup. Nobbs fell in her second round matchup of the day to Ohio State's Madeline Atway.

Lenka Antonijevic, Greta Carbone, Mayya Perova and Hannah Smith all participated in the first round of singles matches, but ultimately fell.

UP NEXT: The doubles main draw will begin tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. CT. All eight members of the Blue Demons squad will participate. The doubles teams pairings are: Antonijevic/ Kizelbasheva, Carbone/ Smith, Perova/ Yergler and Nobbs/ Martin.
