Blue Demons Travel to UConn, Providence for Penultimate Weekend of BIG EAST Play

CHICAGO – DePaul women's volleyball will make its final road trip of the regular season with a pair of matches on the East Coast Nov. 12-13.
The Blue Demons are set to visit Connecticut on Saturday, Nov. 12 before traveling to Providence to take on the Friars on Sunday, Nov. 13. First serve for both matches is slated for 12 p.m. CT with FloSports covering the action.
Noting the Blue Demons:DePaul is 9-17 on the 2022 campaign and 5-9 in BIG EAST action. The Blue Demons have won three of their last five matches including a pair of sweeps last weekend against Villanova and Georgetown. Junior outside hitter Jill Pressly, reigning BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, ranks second in the BIG EAST with 3.80 kills to go along with 4.20 points per set which is good for third amongst league attackers. Pin hitters Taylor Underwood and Bailey Nelson add 2.50 and 2.41 kills, respectively. Libero Rachel Krasowski is among the BIG EAST's best defensive specialist's, averaging nearly 5 digs per set at 4.93. DePaul sits tied for eighth in the league standings, vying for one of six bids to the conference tournament, with four matches remaining.
Scouting Connecticut: After starting BIG EAST play 0-5, the Huskies won eight-consecutive matches and sit at 8-6 in conference play and remain in fifth place in the league standings heading into the penultimate week of play. Seniors Caylee Parker and Jasmine Davis lead the offensive attack, averaging 3.32 and 2.97 kills per set. Karly Berkland leads the defensive effort in the back row, averaging 3.80 digs per set.
Scouting Providence: The Friars are tied for ninth in the BIG EAST standings at 3-11 in conference action while 11-15 overall. Emma Nelson is averaging 2.65 kills per set while Brielle Mullally is averaging 2.54. Mackenzie Taylor has collected 454 digs to average 4.63 per set.
Series Stuff: UConn leads the all-time series 9-1, with the Blue Demons securing their first win against the Huskies in program history with a four-set win on October 1.
DePaul holds a 12-5 advantage over Providence in 17 all-time meetings. The Blue Demons have won three in a row against the Friars.
Up Next: DePaul will return home for their final homestand of the season Nov. 18-19 when Creighton and Xavier visit McGrath-Phillips Arena. Friday night's match against the Bluejays will serve as the Blue Demons' Title IX match while Saturday is Senior Day.
