Blue Demons head to Minneapolis for first road game of the season
MINNEAPOLIS – The DePaul men's basketball team heads north for its first road trip of the season as the Blue Demons are set to take on Minnesota for the opening night of the Gavitt Games. The game is slated for Monday evening at 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on Big Ten Network with Jeff Levering and Shon Morris on the call.
The Gavitt Games is an annual series played between members of the Big Ten and the BIG EAST, named in honor of Hall of Famer Dave Gavitt. DePaul is 3-3 all-time in the Games and has won its last three-straight. Last season the Blue Demons defeated Rutgers, 73-70, in the Gavitt Games.
THE SERIES
DePaul leads the all-time series against Minnesota by a narrow 10-8 margin and has won four of the last five meetings. The last matchup took place Nov. 29, 2019 where DePaul came away with a 73-68 victory.
Prior to the 2019 meeting, the two teams had not played in Minneapolis since 1961. DePaul's all-time record at Minnesota is 4-6.
