
DePaul Hosts Villanova, Georgetown for Weekend Matches

Blue Demons host Wildcats, Hoyas at McGrath-Phillips Arena Nov. 4-5
CHICAGO – DePaul volleyball welcomes Villanova and Georgetown to McGrath-Phillips Arena for a pair of BIG EAST matches Nov. 4-5. The Blue Demons square off with the Wildcats and Hoyas for the first and only time in the 2022 campaign.
Both matches will be streamed live on FloSports with stats available on StatBroadcast. First serve for Friday's match is set for 7 p.m. while Saturday's meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m.
DePaul enters the weekend 7-17 and 3-9 in BIG EAST action. The Blue Demons return to the win column after dropping back-to-back five set losses to Marquette and Butler. Jill Pressly ranks third in BIG EAST play with 3.65 kills per set while notching 13 double-doubles on the season. Taylor Underwood and Bailey Nelson balance the attack with 2.70 and 2.50 kills per set, respectively. Libero Rachel Krasowski is averaging 5.02 digs per set in to rank second in the BIG EAST. Maggie Jones and Ashley Cudiamat quarterback the DePaul's 6-2 offense.
Scouting Villanova: Villanova heads to the Midwest with a mirroring record as DePaul sitting tied for eighth. Rose Crist leads the Wildcats with 2.85 kills per set while Riley Homer and Kiera Booth have tallied 2.53 and 2.40 kps, respectively. Sophomore Elizabeth Fetchko anchors the Wildcats back line with 3.42 digs per set. Josh Steinbach is in his 16th season at the helm on the Main Line.
Scouting Georgetown: The Hoyas are 4-19 in the 2022 season and 2-10 in conference play. Mary Grace Goyena leads the 3.08 kills per set. Giselle Williams and Ruth Kayongo average 2.31 and 2.07 kps, respectively. Karis Park leads the way defensively with 4.29 digs per set while Chanelle Smith averages 1.06 blocks per set. David Heller is in his third season as head coach on the Hilltop.
Series Stuff: The Blue Demons will face Villanova for the 26th time on Friday and have one the previous three matchups. DePaul and Georgetown are set to meet for the 29th time on Saturday afternoon, the Hoyas hold the slight 15-13 edge. DePaul has won three -consecutive matches including a pair of sweeps in 2021. Â
