
DePaul Dives into BIG EAST Play with Providence on Wednesday Night

Blue Demons and Friars meet at 6 p.m. at Wintrust Arena
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball returns to action on Wednesday Dec. 28 when Providence visits Wintrust Arena for the first of three games in seven days for the Blue Demons. Tipoff in the South Loop is slated for 6 p.m. with streaming carried on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloHoops. Single-game tickets remain available here.

DePaul Doings
At 9-4 on the season, the Blue Demons enter Wednesday's meeting 2-0 in BIG EAST play with wins over Butler and Georgetown in December.

The highest scoring tandem in the BIG EAST leads the way for DePaul as Aneesah Morrow, the nation's fourth-leading scorer, is averaging 25.5 points per game while Darrione Rogers ranks fourth in the conference with 19.5 points per game. Morrow is collecting a league-best 11.5 rebounds per game while Rogers has notched five or more assists in eight games this season.

Junior guard Kendall Holmes is totaling 10.0 points per contest and shooting 41 percent from deep while Anaya Peoples has provided a tremendous lift, scoring 19 fourth quarter points combined in DePaul's last two outings.

Jorie Allen bolsters the frontcourt with a balanced 7.7 points per game and 5.9 rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the field.

DePaul has been aggressive on the boards and in the passing lanes, leading the BIG EAST in rebounds (43.1 rpg) and steals (9.9). The Blue Demons have cleaned up on the offensive boards, ranking 16th in the nation at a 16.1 clip.

A storyline to watch on Wednesday night will be the importance of the charity stripe as the Blue Demons are averaging 20.2 free throw attempts per game to rank first in the BIG EAST while Providence averages just 11.8 fouls committed per game, the fewest in Division I.Â
