Women's Tennis Takes Down Butler 5-2 in BIG EAST Opener

No. 1 singles ace Yuliya Kizelbasheva extends winning streak to seven
INDIANAPOLIS – One down, one to go.
Coach Marisa Arce and her women's tennis team started off their weekend visit to the Hoosier State with a convincing 5-2 victory over Butler in their inaugural BIG EAST match.
Leading the way was No. 1 singles ace Yuliya Kizelbasheva who defeated Natalie Boesing 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 for her seventh consecutive victory. The sophomore standout is now 8-2 in her last 10 matches.
The scoreboard read 2-2 until Kizelbasheva's performance.
After the No. 1 doubles tandem of Lenka Antonijevic and Kizelbasheva along with Hristina Djokic and Marija Jovicic at No. 2 had secured the doubles point, the visitors from Lincoln Park went up 2-0 on the strength of Jovicic's 6-1, 6-0 sweep of Sara Lin at No. 3 singles.
Butler (1-7) had come back to knot the score at 2-2 when Kizelbasheva sparked a three-match Blue Demon run.
Eleanor Nobbs followed with a 6-2, 6-2 straight-setter over Katie Beavin at No. 5 and Valentina Martin culminated the day with a 6-4, 6-1 decision over Hallie Leblebijian.
The Blue Demons will drive from Indianapolis to West Lafayette for a Sunday matchup at Purdue.
