School record shattered and multiple PRs at day one of Meyo Invitational
NOTRE DAME, Ind. - Day one of the Meyo Invitational started off with multiple Blue Demon personal bests. Olivia Borowiak set a new school record in the women's 5000m run with a time of 16:33.87, shattering a school record that has stood since 2004.
Borowiak cruised to a second-place finish in the 5000m behind only Notre Dame's Jacqueline Gaughan. Her time was nearly 13 seconds faster than Erin Moffett's program-best pace that was set in 2004.
Other notable performances on the women's side at Notre Dame included Dylan Armstrong and Isabel Ingram advancing through the preliminary round of the 60m Hurdles. Tori Carroll and Jetta Mays took fourth and 11th, respectively, to qualify for the semifinal round of the 60m dash. Lorie Cashdollar had a new personal best in the 600m with a time of 1:33.34.
On the men's side, the Blue Demons set a pair of personal bests. Ben Litwin threw for a PR, 17.33m, in the weight throw. Cameron Attucks, Dominic Cole, and Myles Marshall all advanced from the preliminary round of the 60m dash. Cole ran a 6.90, a personal record.
