DePaul Opens Outdoor Season at Benedictine Invitational

The Blue Demons will send a small distance group to Lisle, Ill.
CHICAGO - DePaul track and field is set to open the 2022 outdoor season with the Benedictine University Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Demons will travel to Lisle, Ill. to return to action after a layoff since the BIG EAST Indoor Championships back in February.
DePaul will send a group of distance runners to the invitational, preparing the group for the Illini Twilight meet on April 8 and 9. After a fraction of Blue Demon athletes head to Benedictine this weekend, a larger group will run in Champaign next weekend.
On the men's side, DePaul will send Andy Thompson, Jaiden Fishbein, Lucas Orwig, William Previdi and Jackson Thomas to Lisle. For the Blue Demon women, Meaghan Andrews, Megan Dieball, Lesley Viveros and Madison Volz to the invitational.
The last time the Blue Demons hit the track, the DePaul men claimed a second-place finish at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships. Meanwhile, the DePaul women claimed a third-place team finish.
Action begins in Lisle at Noon CT.
